In John 3:15 it illustrates that whoever believes in Jesus will not perish, but will have eternal life. The truth is that God has placed eternity in the heart of man.
“He made everything appropriate to his time. He also put in the heart of man the longing for eternity; (Ecclesiastes 3: 11a).
Obviously, all men desire for eternity, this was what God put in their hearts.
The longing for eternity makes us hope to reunite with a person who has already passed away.
The bible mentions that God sees death as a temporary sleep, with the sound of God’s trumpet, everyone was resurrected. Some to eternal shame and others to eternal life.
Therefore, it is crucial to live an active life in good works and have faith that one day you will meet your creator.
The thief who was at Jesus’ side at his death received salvation by confessing his sin and recognizing that Jesus was the Savior of the world.
Another example is David in the loss of his son.
God punished him for having committed a sin by having a relationship with Uriah’s wife.
On that occasion God took David’s son.
2 Samuel 12:23
“But now that she is dead, why should I fast? Could I bring her back to life? I will go to her, but she will not come back to me.”
In this scenario, David did everything so that the Lord might have mercy on him and let the child live. He fasted, cried for the child.
David says “I will go to her, but she will not return to me.” For this reason, we hope that one day we will meet those people who were lost first. It illustrates that one day he would meet her again in eternity. But only in eternity, therefore, would she not return to the land of the living.
This is certainly a message of great comfort for someone who has suffered a loss. The Bible says that the man who clings to God, even if he dies, will live again in eternity.
Therefore, keep in mind that one day you will meet the person who left you in eternity. But, believe in God, God has power over life and death, trusting God is the best choice man can make. King David trusted in God, and understood that the child who died was for eternity and that one day he would be reunited.
